If a customer calls in wanting to replace C cabinet boards (legacy controller), be careful not to recommend an incompatible replacement part (current 3200 display/control boards).
Support/ Sales Procedure:
- Customer calls in wanting to replace C cabinet part. Controller will be OOW.
- Ask Customer for
- the Serial Number of the Controller – If it is a 3K or 1K then request a picture of the boards in the controller. Controllers with K in SN has parts that were able to go into Peds and Wall mounts, before we diverged subassembly form fits.
- a picture of the controller [what are we looking for in picture]
- To replace C cabinet boards,
- for Peds recommend the Complete Backplate Assy and ribbon cable to replace boards. You cannot attach current 3200RB and 3200INT boards into backplates containing C components. The screw risers are not in the correct place for the new boards to mount to old backplate. Also recommend new 3200S panel (3200S-RDA) which will get them a new warranty on that controller. High likelihood that with 3K serial # it can’t be upgraded beyond FW16.6. so 3200S is great option.
- for Wall Mount C controllers, the recommendation is for a new X cabinet controller. A full replacement is required. X parts (display assembly and control boards) have different firmware than C parts and they will be unable to communicate with each other.
