Moisture Sensor Two-Wire Communication Error
This is when the controller is receiving the error: Two-Wire Communication Error Unable to talk to this Device
This can be a constant issue or an intermittent issue.
Troubleshooting
Constant Communication Error
- Dig up the Moisture Sensor
- Make sure its clean and dry
- Take it to the controller
- Make sure the Controller is Powered down
- Disconnect the Field wiring from the controller
- Connect the Moisture sensor to the Two-Wire Terminals
- Power the controller on
- If the Moisture Sensor is NOT new
- Self Test
- Test single Two-Wire Device
- See if we get a response
- If the Moisture Sensor IS new
- Assign
- Moisture Sensor
- Search for the Moisture Sensor
- See if the Sensor can be located by the controller
If the Moisture Sensor responds without a Two-Wire Communication or a Two-Wire Error then the Sensor is fine.

- Confirm Sensor functions without errors at the controller
- Dig up the Moisture Sensor
- Make sure its clean and dry
- Take it to the controller
- Make sure the Controller is Powered down
- Disconnect the Field wiring from the controller
- Connect the Moisture sensor to the Two-Wire Terminals
- Power the controller on
- If the Moisture Sensor is NOT new
- Self Test
- Test single Two-Wire Device
- See if we get a response
- If the Moisture Sensor IS new
- Assign
- Moisture Sensor
- Search for the Moisture Sensor
- See if the Sensor can be located by the controller
If the Moisture Sensor responds its a field issue.

Most common Field issues:
- Corrosion
- bad splices
- nicked wiring
