Moisture Sensor Not Reading Temperature
This is when the Moisture Sensor is not recording or seeing temperature or changes in temperature.
Device specific Note:
BaseStation 1000s: Temperature will not display in the moisture report. It will only show the moisture level.
BaseStation 3200s: Temperature in addition to moisture levels will display in moisture reports only on firmware version 17.4 and higher.
Troubleshooting
Testing in the Field
- Dig the moisture sensor up
- clean and dry the moisture sensor
- Do a Self Test for the Moisture Sensor to see what it responds with
- Self Test
- Test Single Two-Wire Device
If the test responds with Temperature then please refer the client to the Moisture Sensor installation instructions
If the test does not respond with Temperature then please continue troubleshooting at the controller
Troubleshooting
At the Controller
- Take the Moisture Sensor to the controller
- Make sure the sensor is dry and clean
- Power the controller down
- Disconnect the Two-wire field wiring
- Connect the Moisture sensor to the two-wire terminal on the board
- Power the controller on
- Let sit in a dry location for 5-10 minutes
- Do self test
- Self test
- Test Single Two-Wire Device
If the Moisture Sensor does respond with Temperature then the moisture sensor is fine
