Water Source Budget Exceeded Shutdown

Info, impact, causes, and troubleshooting a "Water Source Budget Exceeded Shutdown" message.

Common Causes

  • Water budget enabled as a conservation effort 
  • Water budget enabled accidentally with any value greater than 0.
  • Budget shutdown was enabled.
  • The water budget was exceeded during the month. 

What Happens Now?

  • Only the zones downstream of Water Source 1 (WS 1) are impacted.
  • WS 1 has been disable and all watering has stopped. 
  • Zones will not receive water from WS 1. 
  • Alert: the budget was set to 25,000 gallons per month, but 25,100 was actually used. 

Troubleshooting: Was This Action Intended?

  • If shutdown was intended no action is needed. 
  • Can disable shutdown action, which will only send an alert. 
  • Can increase the water budget or disable the water budget altogether. 
  • In Base Manager → Flow Setup → Water Sources
    • Budget can be increase in Monthly Budget (set to 0 to skip feature). If Shutdown box is disabled and budget exceeded the controller it will only alert and not take a shutdown
