Learn how to protect a mainline and close a master valve with a BL-5406-kit pressure biCoder.
Scenario
- Commerical site.
- Normally open Master Valve (mainline is always pressurized).
- Moderate pressure can occasionally experience spikes from the supply (domestic or pump), which may damage components.
Goal
- To prevent pressure spikes from damaging mainlines and components by automatically closing the master valve when pressure exceeds 150 psi.
Required Hardware
- ¼” connection to mainline.
- BL-5406-kit pressure biCoder.
- BL-CP PFS-100 control points and pressure.
Bringing it Together
- BaseManager → Flow Setup → Control Points (we want to influence downstream of that master valve).
- Set a High Pressure Limit 150 psi.
- Enable Shutdown.
- Under Devices:
- Add Pressure Sensor, Flow Meter and Master Valve.
- Enable Normally Open.
